There's no long-term contract. Tuition is billed one month at a time, and you can stop by letting us know in writing before the 15th of the month.

JAMS is month-to-month. Here's how registration, tuition, and billing work.
Ways to start
- Trial Week: 2 in-person classes for $50, credited toward registration if you enroll.
- One-Month Start: $574 at registration ($199 registration fee + $375 first month of tuition).
- Enroll: $199 registration fee plus your first month of tuition.
Registration fee
A one-time $199 fee that covers your child's abacus, books, bag, and materials.
Monthly tuition
Tuition varies by level. Tuition at the beginning levels is $375 per month.
Billing and payment
Your first month's tuition is paid by ACH. After that, tuition is drafted automatically from your bank account on the 15th of each month for the following month of classes.
Stopping classes
To stop, notify us in writing at info@jamsportland.com before the 15th of the month. No further tuition will be drafted. We encourage you to talk with your child's teacher first. Many students who feel stuck are close to a breakthrough.
Sibling discount
Families enrolling a second child receive a one-time $50 discount, applied to tuition at enrollment.
Test and competition fees
Depending on your child's level, JAMS conducts required regional and national tests. JAMS also hosts an annual competition for all students. These fees are added to your monthly tuition.
Late and returned payment fees
If a tuition payment is denied, a $25 eCheck return fee applies. If bank account information is missing, a $45 late fee applies.
